Welcome to the Muthusamy Virtual University of Postgraduate Ophthalmology faculty page. The faculty is here to serve students. Students are assigned a member of the faculty and encouraged to communicate directly on a continuous basis, so they may develop an excellent student–teacher relationship.

In our virtual university, help is only an email away. Our faculty members are referred to as learning advisors. Some are present examiners for the MRCSEd/FRCSEd and MRCOphth/FRCOphth examinations.

The faculty falls into two groups. Faculty 1 are recipients of the Muthusamy Medal — an honour struck at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the founder’s name. Faculty 2 are appointed faculty, named by the university as learning advisors. Both teach; the difference is how they came to it.
